When people search for Black Christian comics, or something similar, they're probably looking for more than representation.
Chances are, they're looking for stories that combine spiritual depth, cultural identity, and meaningful heroism.
Zero Hour Epsilon Force offers this.
William Wallace: A Black Action Hero
One of the main characters in Zero Hour Epsilon Force is William Wallace, a Black deuteragonist whose character is shaped by both tragedy and royal lineage.
As a child, William survived the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre and escaped to another dimension where he grew up. This dimension is the universe of his friend Tyrannogator where superheroes, fantasy creatures, science fiction and sometimes even spiritual warfare all collide.
Initially, Tyrannogator is hostile towards William due to his hatred for humans. Something William can relate to as he once harbored hatred for Whites as well following the Tulsa Massacre. But later, with William's help, Tyrannogator overcomes this bitterness and befriends William along with the other human heroes.
William is also a descendant of King Ezana of Axum — the ancient African ruler who helped establish Christianity as a state religion in the Kingdom of Aksum.

That lineage ties William to a deep and historic Christian legacy rooted in Africa itself. And because of that lineage, he's able to overcome various kinds of challenges and help Tyrannogator fight against some of the most vicious villains in the galaxy.
William learns of this royal Black heritage off-panel later from his wife Aniyah and her advanced DNA testing. And alongside that, he's a champion boxer in Tyrannogator's universe and proficient in engineering and various kinds of weaponry.
This isn’t just an everyday superhero origin story. It’s a faith-driven narrative exploring: black history and resilience, the pain of injustice, and of course redemption through Christ.
A Black Character As Part Of a Bigger Christian Superhero Universe
Christian-based comics with Black characters are still rare in mainstream spaces. Too often, faith stories lack cultural depth, and culturally centered stories lack theological grounding. This series exists in that intersection.
William Wallace isn’t only fighting time traveling cyborgs, scary vampires, and evil aliens from outer space. He’s carrying Black history and faith. And he’s stepping into a Christian universe that's larger than himself. A Christian universe that has lots of moving parts.
And a Christian universe that embraces full superhero energy such as:
Inter-dimensional travel
High-stakes battles
Sci-fi and fantasy world building
Why does this matter?

Because Christian-based comics with Black characters shouldn’t be limited to just preachy moral lessons or surface-level representation.
They can be epic, imaginative and carry history and hope all at the same time. And they can also win awards as well which Issue 1 of Zero Hour Epsilon Force did.
William Wallace’s story connects both the tragedy side and uplifting side of Black history along with Biblical lessons too. All through the lens of superhero, fantasy, and science fiction.
Explore Zero Hour Epsilon Force Today
Zero Hour Epsilon Force brings all of that truth into a new dimension. It carries the tone of a bright, nostalgic cartoon universe while exploring darker themes beneath the surface. That contrast is intentional. The visual style feels accessible while the themes often go deeper.
And beneath the superhero, action and sci-fi battles is also real history and messages like letting go of hatred and never giving up.
